After trying the Cougar roof and finding the it just too darned big. I had to section it both ways by 2mm and the back-light is wrong, wrong, wrong. I've come to the conclusion that the '66 Mustang hardtop roof would be a better choice. It's a matter of extending the roof 'C' pillars back with a sliver of plastic to the sides of the trunk. Looking at all the photos of the '69 hardtop, it looks like that's exactly what Ford did. The glass is still in the old position and the sheet metal is just extended with a bezel as a filler. The trunk actually goes up in between the 'C' pillars to get the deeper deck as the '66 had. You could use the '66 trunk too. The way I did it the trunk is too short and that Cougar glass is just not right. Granted it looks okay but does not pass for a '69 HT. Back to the stash. bob@modelcarscience.com Attachments:

I fit in the '66 roof onto the '69 Mach 1. Notice the bottom corner of the '66 (light blue) is aligned to the top edge of the '69 door (grey). I will modify the 'C' pillar to look like a '69 hardtop and rescribe the trunk lines. The glass is already right. bob Attachments:

Picked up on the Mustang H/T again after some time off. I have the roof, trunk, and fenders done, there's that little fender line that I still have to add from the corner of the rear bumper going forward ...but it's close to primer. Included is the latest progress photo. Bob Attachments:

This is the '69 HT as it stands and back into the box it goes. I got other projects. I will brush in any low spots with primer and then sand. I know a low spot when I see one and don't have to sand to find them. So that's it for this one for a while. bob Attachments:

Thanks guys, actually a lot more time was spent on the fenders and trunk lid than the roof. I like to make sure they're cured before I paint, heck I got stuff curing in boxes for years now. The one I would like most to paint and finish is the Mustang Milano. All the sites that post that concept show it as purple (colorized B/W) but Ford says it was Indigo. I've got a color photo of it and it's the only one on the web, it's just that blue that all the cars and trucks are still using today. bob

Does anybody knows if there is a company currently casting the 1969 Mustang Grande?
