I got the engine seams filled in and primered. Being a monogram kit, the motor was a joke when i got it glued together. I had a lot of filing, and sanding to do to get it to look this good. I ran out of sandpaper, so once i get some more, i will get the body smoothed out, and get it in primer. The motor is ready for my 2-stage paint scheme. I will try to get the paint on it today, and get updates later today. Virgil

Thank you!! I am planning on changing a few things just so it doesnt look completely like the boxart. I have a couple of built ones, on is a glue bomb, and the other isnt too bad, so the parts i dont use on this one will go on one of the others. I also have one of the yellow bodied ones.. ;D ;D

I made it to the bench last night, so heres the update. I stripped the chrome off of these parts, as they need a lot of clean up. I am debating using Alclad chrome on them, or painting them. I will decide today. Here is the body after the bodywork is done, and i took a spoiler, split it, and shortened it to fit the roof line. The kit comes with 4 tiny little dots for the hood to rest on, and one of them was gone, so i cut the other 3 off, and added sheet styrene. I am not planning on using the sidepipes, so i cut off the molded in hangers, and where the rearend mounts is where the monogram logo stuff was molded in, so i filed, and sanded it off. The frame and wheel backings are primered The engine block is painted, and ready for detailing. I used Model Master acrylic silver for the basecoat, and airbrushed Tamiya clear orange over that. The body has its Testors one coat laquer "Mythical Maroon" laid on. I have some wet sanding to do to get it ready for clearcoat. I hope you like it. Virgil

You can stop looking for updates. They are here....lol. We had rain friday and saturday, so i wasnt able to get sun pics like i wanted, but here it is........ The tires/wheels are mounted and polished..... All of the chrome parts i stripped due to tons of flashing, holes and other imperfections, they have been sanded, puttied and shot with Alclad II and mounted. The driveshaft was too short, so i lengthened it. I still have to paint it. The motor is setting there for mock-up purposes. The rear diff cover chrome was in good shape, so i put the flat black paint in the grooves, and coated with Tamiya Clear Red. The Dash and radiator/support are painted, just need clear on them now....... Now comes my favorite of the updates...."The Body" Let me know what you think of it. It is clear coated, but not polished yet. I am waiting for the next sunny day to get the best pics. Thank you, Virgil

Beautiful!!!! I think the rear spoiler really adds a lot to the body style. I have several of these kits, but I never figured they could be made to look so good. love those flames.
