Well I thought I started a WIP on this one here but I guess not so here it goes. Here is a model I built about 20 years ago. While not a bad build parts of it was bugging me, like the gloss black interior, the trans painted grey, and the fact that I NEVER painted the body, that is the molded yellow plastic you see. Hosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiSince it was already falling apart I went ahead and finished the process and as you can see it came apart pretty easy. Hosted on Fotki

So after stripping the paint off the windshield frame, motor/trans, interior and a few other parts it was time to get busy. First up is the body. I used the new Testors lacquer Lime Ice Green pearl and then I shot it with a few coats of clear. Hosted on FotkiI decided to add some color to the chassis, it just looked to plain being all flat black so I painted some parts, silver, aluminum, steel and through in a little red on the shocks. Hosted on FotkiNext, I repainted the windshield frame, this time with satin black and then foiled it. Hosted on Fotki

Next I detailed the grille with some turn signal amber metalic and a black wash. Hosted on FotkiWhat had started out to be a quick rebuild has turned into a detailed rebuild. So since I have done so much already I decided to try my hand at wiring the motor and this is the result of my first try: Hosted on Fotki

It sure came out purty marc. I love that color. I painted a 70 1/2 Baldwin Motion Camaro that color. After that, i went out and bought another 2 bottles....lol. That is one of the better looking vettes i have seen. Very well done. Great job of restoration. Mj should be proud of you.

Dang, has it really been that long since I did an update on this one? Oh well, here we go. First a look back at the beginning. Here is stance before I took it apart and I always thought that it was too high: Hosted on FotkiAnd here is the new and improved stance and as you can see the top of the front tire is now covered by the fender and I think it looks much better: Hosted on FotkiAnd here is the nearly finished engine bay minus the coil (that shot off to never-never land) and a couple of minor touchups: Hosted on FotkiJust need to touchup a few more parts and get the rest of the chrome mounted and this one will be finished!!!
