I got this one in a trade from 58Desoto. After a good cleaning, soaking in dish water and another good cleaning, I found a model that was in good condition. I just could not force myself to take it apart or repaint it. I liked it! I will do the under hood detailing this winter, when the outside paint season comes to an end. The paint was dull from the years of shelf life and the chrome was pretty well gone. On the plus side, the model was built well with some very nice interior detailing. I also liked the colors. So I got out the wax and shined the body up. It really sparkles with a couple of coats and some polishing. The direct sun light on it is a bit much. I ran out of Baremetal foil redoing the trim on this beast. I still have to finish the headlight rings. They have a slight blue tint. Sorry the interior shots didn't come out, but they are the same as the before pic. I tried using direct sunlight, but my camera could not handle the black, some of it's sensors are not doing the correct metering functions. (my wife informed me I will be getting a new one for Christmas) But...I repainted the boot cover with a flat black, then rubbed it and the interior with a couple of hand cleaner wipes. They contain Aloe, which makes the flat black look like a cross between a plastic seat and a leather seat.

For me, restoration is more fun than building a new kit. I have a ton of rebuilders under my belt after 33 yrs of building ;D ;D ;D

Like you Virgil I enjoy a restore project much more than a fresh build , after seeing what Robert did with this old Dodge makes me glad to see he took something that I had just laying around and bought it back to life. Robert if your out there want you to know every time I come back to look at what you did with the Plymouth and Dodge make me glad you were the one that ended up with them.

Thanks to MJ and the rest of you, I dropped a 68 Plymouth Road Runner into the Purple Pond to see what comes out.
