It was kool and poured rain all night, after intermitant sprinkles all day yesterday. Cool and rainy today too,but beats the heck outta cold and frozen ;D It was a beautiful ceremony, they had. Wife had to work, but I noticed my Mom and my Daughter (her first wedding attended) both had liquid leaking from their eyes,LOL! In retro-spect,had I been "whooped" at that stage of our marriage (instead of in the last 2-3 years out of 17),it sure woulda saved the 2 of us mucho-headaches over the years,LOL! ;D I told him it just weren't right...he'd walked in a free man, walked out with a life sentance She asked where my Son was,I told her he didn't want to come to a funeral...we all laughed, and I explained that I'd told him that this wasn't a funeral,it was a wedding. Lori (the cousin) asked what he said to that,I truthfully told her "He thought about that for a moment, and shrugged his shoulders and said 'same thing' " Seriously though,I made a few jokes, but made sure they both knew I was happy and proud of the both of em. Known him for a few years, and seen him grow up lots preparing to be her husband, they seemed really happy The Ply Mouth...tragedy struck the hood in the way of cheap,apparently-outta-date no-name BMF. Had to be stripped, and I got it reprimed and reshot with the gold base last night,Candy Red this morning. LHS only carries that...stuff I had,and are closed Mon's and Tuesdays anyways,so I ordered some from Micromark,to be added later. Ahhh...and I typed alla that on one breath ;D

A HUGE HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to the two of ya's!!! Yep,she's the BEST thing to ever hppen to me,and thesmartest thing I ever done was propse to 'er (and I say this knowing we had a huge argument...which though still wrong,I was right,LOL...). Wuzn't neice and nephew though, younger cousin, but yeah, they'll do good Today...sigh. I got a call from the school about 11AM,asking why Nicholas was absent (they do thi fr every absentee). I immediately went into both panic and "pounce on the person on the other end of the pone" mode,as I had put Nicholas on th bus myself this morning. So,they locked down the s'kool and called the Sherriff's office, but I had little trouble beating them there in my 6 horse power KIA. Long story short,he and another lil boy (both are 7) were cutting class fom the moment they got off the bus, hiding out under the stairwells in the rear (rarely used) hallway, playing Pokemon cards and giggling. Apparentlythey had pre-plannd this, since they both brought snacks That was pretty much the extent of it,everybody was so relieved at the outcome, nobody really threw any fits (including me). Long day though And...low 40's and rainy all friggin day

Yeah, there were times when I wondered HOW she put up with my crazy a$$ for so long, but like I've always said, she does have the patience and personality of an angel! MY good fortune to have her! Yeah, I can bet things got kinda hairy for you, I couldn't IMAGINE loosin a kid!!! Here in Deeetroit, a few weeks ago, Some parents had a birthday party for their 6 year old son, an when they left at the end of the night, THEY FORGOT TO TAKE THE KID with them!!! The Chucky cheesey place called the cops, an THEY put the boy with Child Protective Services, the Dad came back THREE DAYS LATER to see if anyone had seen his son!!! I tell ya, Deeetroit's gotta LOT WORSE problems than kwami kilpatrick! Forgettin yer OWN kid, Yeeesh, THAT takes the cake!!! So VERY glad everything turned out well for you an the boy! Who said Girls were alot of trouble? Joy NEVER pulled stuff like that in school! Welp, only 285 days left, an Spring IS commin!!!! Have a GREAT day!!!

Man,that's so horrible it sounds like something the Barones woulda done to Robert (Everybody Loves Raymond on TV) Jamie gave us a little bit o trouble when she first started kindergarten (thought the world revolved around her...to the point of beatin on other kids...),but that was very short lived,2 threats of the belt and that was that. Nick, spanking, grounding, time outs...nothing scares him,so we're trying a combo of the three with lots of firmness. He's been suspended 4 times since January, and they haven't been actually in school 40 days due to snow yet I think he stresses due to Mommy going to work all of a sudden last year (as well as college),and occasionally seeing dear-ol-Dad (me) down and barely walking sometimes, while others seein me with a possum eating grin and pedalling like the Devil hisself is chasing me down that trail. So,he acts out. A little warmer out today, low 50's,but sunny with a chance of sunnier . Weekend's sposed to be summer-like ;D And yeah,I feel ya with the wives...she's the BEST thing ever to come along my way,I'm proud, appreciative and lucky to know her...and I tell her that every day

PS: I may yet have several timed and themed projects to finish (double my total builds last year, actually),but I couldn't resist the starting of a new project last night. Twill be my very first teardown and rebuild of a gluebomb...from that first batch of a junkyard I scored off Ebay earlier this year (they were all pretty far gone, too). I'll get a thread up when I get more done than disassembly/purple bath ;D

Sigh....... ..........Got a call from the school today,Nick pulled his playing hooky game again, thankfully they went to check his lil hiding spot and found him before the whole fiasco of the other day repeated itself. Their next step (after this) is to get the school board involved, which their first step would be to to get child services involved.....Before it gets to there,he's gunna become one unhappy little booger, which makes me one unhappy Dad

Well,"positive reinforcment" doesn't seem to work at all,so I'm trying a new tactic...reminding/reassuring how much I love him,but as he got out of the vehicle to get on the bus this morning,I told him if I got a call from the school today,in addition to the already-in-place grounding (from everything for the weekend),"I promise you,you and your hind-end will have the worst weekend of your life"...maybe scare him out of behaving badly...nothing else seems to work Not pouring, but steadily raining (all last night too),but at least in the mid 40's. Going to try and get some work done on the '39 Chevy today, and throw a few more parts from a rebuilder in the purple stuff for a few days ;D Enjoy yer day off,my friend!

Well Brother, It's NONE of my affair, but if talkin to the lil guy doen't accoplish anything, then maybe actions would speak louder than words. I never had Joy act up as a little kid, she din't get rambunctious till she was about 14 an seein as I had 4 older sisters, I just used my Dad's tactics an started grounding her. I picked her up from school an she was cut off from her freinds for up to a month at a time! no phone, no visitors NADA! She came around after a coupla go rounds with her ol dad, an she came out GREAT! yeah, it was tough beein the Bad dad, but in the long run it was all worth it! To this day she remembers me pullin her phone out the wall! ("I said NO phone calls and I MEAN IT!!!") That was a drag, caz at the end of her grounding I had to hook it all back up! Yeah, kids is HARD, but they's worth it!!! ( Quoteing from Wanda Sykes!!) Hey just hang in there Bro, it'll all be worth it in the end! Hell, he COULD end up bein the PRESIDENT, you NEVER can tell!!! 35 out right now, with a hi of 42 their sayin. Cold but it REALLY sunny, so it's not SO depressing!!! 283 left!

Well,so far so good for today...no calls from Mrs. Carty (the Vice Principal). And yer right, definately worth whatever it takes, cause without them (the kids),there's 2/3 of the reason fer livin,LOL! More good news to add this week (sarcasm there). Got my letter from the ALJ Judge about the disability today,if you remember I had my court date last month, and the lawyer said it went (his emphasis) " VERY well...". The letter basically said I'm not able to fart without help or supervision, can't sit for more than an hour, can't stand or sit for more than 15 minutes, can't kneel, stoop, crawl or otherwise move around, can't concentrate for more than 30 minutes or so,can't lift more than 5 lbs not-to-be-lifted-over-my-head,and cannot sleep or even bath myself without assistance (yeah,honey...I need you to wash me there ;D),and also said he was basing his decision on the remarks made by the lady who works for Disability during the hearing (when asked by the judge if I could return to any kind of gainful employment, she said "no your honor, not now or in the future")..................................and he denied my claim, stating that "Mr. Sammons is not disabled, and can return to either of his former occupations, such as driving a tractor trailer, dump truck, training truck drivers, and working a concrete truck including but not limited to the cleaning of the 'bowl' from hardened concrete (with a 75LB jackhammer....his fat hiney wouldn't even fit inside the bowl to do that,BTW )"

Steve, I know a guy at work who got PERMANENT disabilities from G.M. for goin after a supervisor who rode him for not moveing fast enough AFTER he sustained a serious back injury. HE slipped on some floor cleaning fluids (the area WAS properly marked with caution cones)and landed flat on his tush. He ended up crushing some discs and was DEFINATELY fu**ed up! They had to get EMS to carry him out inna stretcher.Anyway he was outta work for a long time, an we THOUGHT he gotta medical retirerment. He came back to work movein pretty slow, an one day, after beein hassled by this foreman, who was a REAL dik, he just lost it an hit him with a broom. They tried to fire him, took it to labor relations, and he ended up winning the case. Labor relations said, due to his medical condition,he was not able to deal with the stress of normal work related/plant environment. He got permanent disabilities due to his MENTAL condition!!! Jus go back to work an hit a super caz your nutty from the pain, an I'll bet MONEY you'll win!!! You already got previous history of your injury, and the experts sided with YOU on this claim, so even if some buttheaded judge, who probably NEVER worked a REAL job in his sorry bought off by the company life, didn't agree with them, another judge might not. I've seen it work, so it might work for you too! Sorry you got the shaft on this one, this time, but DON'T quit, the REST of your life DEPENDS on you being able to live a healthy pain free existance, an judges ARE JUDGES, They ARE NOT Doctors! Just do the best you can, an wait for a better opprotunity to state your case! I'll pray for ya Brother, cas NO man that is willing to give a hard days work should be PUNISHED for it. You did, you were hurt, and the people who were responsible for your injury should NOT be left off the hook cas they got a friend in a judge's office!!!! 282 left.

Thanks for the encouragement,George ol friend,it helps I'm not nearly as pissed about it today,I guess I had time to let it sink in a little. In all actuality, the injury may be 9 years old this month, but the disability is only 13 months old,we were told and expected 2-2 1/2 years anyways,LOL! I was really looking forward to 3 things with the backpay...1) Getting on the county H2O (thereby ending all the pains just below my lower lumbar that comes from having our well across the ditch on my Grandpa's side,LMAO!!!),2) The new Mancave, and a new,or,at least, new-to-me Mustang GT. I can live perfectly fine without the last one,I can wait on the second one,but you have NO IDEA on the first (I could write a book on Noggie,my Grandpa-he's actually kinda famous for being an a-hole in the area,LOL!). Can't really go back to work to try that out though, she would have to quit her job for me to do it,and though some days aren't bad at all, there's usually no forewarning for the days I'll barely make it outta bed,LOL! We'll keep diggin, and I'll get me some shrink appointments, tell em how depressed I am ,keep adding to the files. The lawyer sounded not only confused, but highly pissed as well (of course, that's because he don't get paid till I do). On a more pleasant note,Spot may be forever gone (and sorely missed),and Peaches may be a real thorn in our sides (she's really sweet, but NOT a good fit in our home),my neighbor up the hollow told me that dear ol Spot had knocked his Boxxer up last year, and he has 5 pups (7 months old now),and 3 of em looked just like Spot (but with the boxxer's shorter snout). We went up and he let us have the friendliest-to-the kids yesterday. Her name is Blossom, but I can't help but think of her as " The Spawn of Spot". She looks almost nothing like him color-wise (she has the boxxer's colors),but I can see some of him in her body language and behavior ;D
