When I get stuck, in a slump......it's time to start a new project to keep going. I do this a lot, I always intend to finish something and I do eventually......but I am just not "into" my other projects right now. This is an oldie, shaved and pretty much stock currently. Whoever built it originally, sanded everything, but not too much.....just enough to "dull" the details like the door lines and trunk lines. I am re-scribing the trunk and door lines right now. I plan to drill the headlights out and try to make them look more realistic. Gonna take a little work, but I can do it. I will have to go around and re-scribe the trim from the B pilar to the back. Not sure what colors yet, but I am thinking two tone or maybe mono with scallops.

headlights were glued in pretty good. I drilled them out , pretty much looks like it did before they were installed originally. I need to figure out a trim ring and new lenses that look more like the photo below. this is how I want them to look.

got hood fixed up. in the first pic you can see two nice chips missing. taped the hood from the underside to make a form or base. I put super glue down on those spots to fill them up and dumped baking soda on the super glue while pushing it into the glue and it hardened up quick! after a couple hours, I took the tape off and left the glue exposed like this. hood looks worse than it is after sanding, still need to final and smooth. next I grapped the barrel sander and dremel and started shaping the glue/baking soda to fit the shape of the hood. came out pretty good! after it's primed and painted...you won't even be able to tell ;D

Rod, did you cut any material back to make a square edge ? If I am hearing you correctly, then you placed the tape on the back side of the hood, yes? I'll check back on the progress of this car. Ed Shaver

To fix your dilemma on the head light ring, try alum tubing ! working on that, the hard part is getting all 4 to look just the same lol I might have to put something in such as plastic round tubing and then just foil it after it's painted.

Ed Shaver do you mean on the backside and leading edge to the cowl? if so then, yes I pretty much free handed it though and then sanded it smooth. it carries the same edge as the factory put on it, so when it's done it won't be visible. I put the tape on the bottom of the hood before putting any super glue down. it just acts as a "form". It will depend on what the job is on how it's done also.

Rod , being as I'm way older than the car, I can relate to a 1960 Buick. I tell ya I really appreciate the effort you're putting into the ole jewel! Ed Shaver
