Oldest Surviving Model Just returned 1967 Galaxie

One of my first Restoration builds from 1999-2000
Thought i would share it with everyone. I just receieved it in the mail today........
Its by far perfect but was just so excited to have the chance to get it back........
This one has been gone 5 years and is still in the same shape as the day i sent it off in the mail.........
Heres a before pic of it in 2000........(didnt have a d/camera back when) Use to use my flat bed scanner for pics,then tried a poleriod for awhile then bought a little RCA d/cam that didnt take very good close ups..) then in 2002 i bought my very first Sony FD100 D/cam that i still own and use) so for me the up grade to a better D/camera was a plus! and now own two FD100 D/cameras)

And only have been using BMF (Bare metal foil) for about a year now here is the vent post cleaned up and BMF'ed...........

Acouple mock up pictures (cause i didnt know what to do with the bumpers and grill as they was stripped of there chrome)


Dont remember if i got any finished pics of this build cause i havent been able to find any..........here's pics of it today as it came in the mail back to me.....and i am one happy camper!!!


I ended up Gettin some Alcad ll and tried it out for the first time and its not to bad looking but not like the chrome i was after but better then silver paint


Also luck would have it think i have an extra set of taillites and bezels.

The plan is to get it 100% back into shape, like detail some things i missed or just didnt due back when and wanted to get the pics before i went in for the details.........
So have you any of your old builds left in the same state they was built back when? I would like to see them so post them int his new board.......

No storys behind it,some times people get tired of looking at something down the road, and anything i sell or trade off we agree that i am the first to be contacted when they are going to sell it off....

Small update....................
Got the exhaust painted and i removed the stock mufflers and installed a set of cherry bombs,detail painted underneath as well.
Also added a gas tank painted it as well.......
In the engine bay i painted and installed a firewall (didnt have any extras back when),added a dist,upper rad hose and removed the old style aircleaner which i plan put in a bigger filter element one...
Also did the rest of the emblems i didnt do back when with a silver metallic sharpie......
Just need to find taillights and bezels for it now....then its done..dont like how the chassis is sitting now but it will do....chassis is from a 1965 Galaxie were i cut out the whole center section so the original interior tub would fit thru it....
